1. Purpose of this Disclosure
This Risk Disclosure Statement serves to inform prospective and active users of Tenardship about the critical financial, technical, and regulatory risks associated with algorithmic market trading, automated bot software, and digital asset operations. This document does not disclose every possible risk factor that may emerge in contemporary financial markets.
2. Extreme Volatility and Price Fluctuations
Cryptocurrency and speculative digital asset markets exhibit extreme price volatility. Valuations may change dramatically within minutes due to speculative trading, media sentiment, technical developments, protocol forks, exchange insolvencies, or macroeconomic changes. Such sudden price movements can swiftly invalidate automated algorithmic indicators and trigger cascading stop-loss liquidations across open positions.
3. Autonomous and Algorithmic Trading Hazards
Tenardship develops automated execution algorithms and quantitative decision models. While these tools aim to execute structured logic without emotional interference, algorithmic trading encompasses unique hazards:
- Execution Latency: Delays between the generation of an algorithmic signal and exchange confirmation can lead to slippage, meaning orders fill at significantly worse prices than anticipated.
- API Failures and Rate Throttling: Linked third-party exchanges may experience socket disconnects, degraded performance, maintenance downtime, or abrupt rate limiting that prevents our bots from opening or closing protective positions.
- Over-Optimization and Curve Fitting: Past backtesting results and historical simulators do not represent future outcomes. Market conditions change continuously, and historical model performance cannot guarantee positive future yields.
- System Downtime: Unscheduled internet connectivity blackouts, server disruptions, or cloud infrastructure outages may impede real-time bot management.
4. Leverage, Liquidation, and Margin Risks
If you connect Tenardship software to perpetual swap contracts, margin accounts, or leveraged derivative pairs, you face accelerated downside exposure. While leverage can amplify gains, it equally magnifies drawdowns. Adverse market movements of only a minor percentage can trigger mandatory margin calls and the total liquidation of your collateral balance without prior notification.
5. Non-Custodial Responsibility and Third-Party Venue Risk
Tenardship is strictly a software provider. We never hold your trading balances, private keys, or fiat funds. Your assets reside entirely with third-party exchanges, brokerages, or wallets selected by you. Tenardship has no control over the solvency, security safeguards, custodial integrity, or operational stability of third-party platforms. In the event of third-party security breaches, insolvency, or freezes, Tenardship bears no liability for resulting asset losses.
6. Regulatory and Legal Uncertainty
The regulatory framework governing digital assets, decentralized protocols, and algorithmic automated trading systems is actively evolving across Canada, provincial jurisdictions, and global territories. Changes in legal status, tax guidelines, trading restrictions, or outright prohibitions imposed by governing authorities could adversely affect your capacity to trade, convert, or hold digital assets, and may alter the operational availability of Tenardship software.
7. Cybersecurity and Credential Hygiene
Algorithmic operations require the generation and sharing of external API credentials. If an unauthorized actor obtains your exchange keys, user passwords, or local device authentication tokens, they may execute unauthorized orders. Users are strictly required to configure API credentials with withdrawal permissions disabled, enable hardware or software two-factor authentication (2FA), and maintain secure endpoint environments.
8. No Fiduciary Duties or Personalized Advice
Tenardship does not operate as an investment manager, portfolio advisor, fiduciary, or registered broker-dealer under Canadian provincial securities legislation. No communication, platform metric, simulated return, or analytical forecast should be construed as individualized investment guidance or a recommendation to enter any trade. Users must independently evaluate their financial standing, risk capacity, and investment objectives, or consult with a certified financial advisor before deploying capital.
9. User Acknowledgment and Acceptance
By engaging with Tenardship’s tools, you expressly acknowledge and agree that you understand the substantial risks detailed herein. You accept complete personal responsibility for all trading outcomes, whether profitable or unprofitable, resulting from the use of our automated software, algorithmic bots, or analytical resources.
